Support for regulators
We help regulators, leaders, and agencies build their skills and become better stewards of the regulatory systems they design, govern and operate.
Overview
The Ministry for Regulation is committed to building the capability of those who design, operate, and govern New Zealand’s regulatory systems.
Regulatory leaders and practitioners need:
- a sound understanding of regulatory principles and frameworks
- the capability to design and deliver effective regulatory interventions
- judgement and adaptability to achieve good outcomes.
The Regulatory System Capability (RSC) team at the Ministry supports regulators by providing practical resources, guidance and the support they need to help them deliver better regulatory outcomes.
The RSC team:
- supports regulators to adopt good practice principles for designing and delivering regulation
- ensures people have the guidance and tools they need to build regulatory capability
- connects regulators with other practitioners, regulatory leaders and communities of practice
- enables regulators to build innovative, agile regulatory solutions.
