Our te reo name
The Ministry for Regulation worked with Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori – The Māori Language Commission to develop a te reo Māori name to sit alongside our English name. The name suggested by Te Taura Whiri is Te Manatū Waeture.

The Ministry for Regulation is a small government agency with a big job to do. We’re responsible for helping other government agencies make their rules and regulations easier for New Zealanders to understand and navigate.

A cut above: outdated hairdressing rules to be trimmed
Cabinet has agreed with the findings and recommendations from the Ministry for Regulation’s review into hairdressing and barbering regulations.
More than 300 red tape issues reported in first week
