Raise a red tape issue
Regulatory issues can now be raised directly with us as part of the Government’s drive to cut red tape for New Zealanders who want to get things done.
Our te reo name
The Ministry for Regulation worked with Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori – The Māori Language Commission to develop a te reo Māori name to sit alongside our English name. The name suggested by Te Taura Whiri is Te Manatū Waeture.
Our role
Our role is to strengthen New Zealand’s Regulatory Management System and to improve regulatory quality, including the experience that New Zealanders have of complying with regulation.
Report a red tape issue
As part of our work to improve regulatory quality, people and organisations can report regulatory issues, or opportunities for regulatory improvement, directly to us through our website tipline.
Regulatory System Capability
We help regulatory leaders and practitioners across New Zealand build their capability.
Regulation wrap for 2024
