Ministry for Regulation – building up from establishment phase with a big job to do
The Ministry for Regulation – a small agency with a big job to do – was established on 1 March 2024.
Our te reo name
The Ministry for Regulation worked with Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori – The Māori Language Commission to develop a te reo Māori name to sit alongside our English name. The name suggested by Te Taura Whiri is Te Manatū Waeture.

2024 has been a big one for the new Ministry for Regulation.

Online learning and collaboration

Our second regulatory review will be of the approval process for agricultural and horticultural products.
