Have your say on the future of telecommunications regulation

We have opened a four-week online public consultation process to gather feedback on options to update regulations in the telecommunications sector, as part of our Telecommunications Regulatory Review.

From analysis of local and international regulatory systems and discussions with regulated parties, service providers, and dispute resolution providers, we have found a range of legacy rules and structures that no longer reflect the realities of today’s digital environment.

The sector has told us that current regulations are:

• slowing innovation
• increasing costs; and
• making it harder for businesses to compete.
